Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the United States and is a writer from Greece, a syndicated writer of columns and businesswoman. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington works as an writer, philanthropist and television host and the owner of The Huffington Post. Originally from Greece Arianna Huffington immigrated to England together with her family around the age of 16. At Cambridge University she earned a MA degree in Economics. As the first non-English speaking student, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. As a conservative syndicated blogger following her graduation, she was able to be a voice of the Huffington Post. The celebrity she enjoyed helped her to convince several famous people to share their opinions regarding current affairs, the culture and politics. Arianna was famous after she was elected as an independent in the California recall elections in order to replace Governor Davis. Alongside this, she was the leader of a Detroit initiative to encourage fuel efficient cars. Forbes declared her to be one of the "most important female" in the media industry with her ranking at the 12th spot. Guardian placed her on their list of the 100 top media personalities in 2009. AOL, Inc. appointed her President of their media division in 2011 after they acquired The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post was joined by other AOL brands, including Engadget AOLmusic Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli was the son of Konstantinos the management and journalism consultant. While she enjoyed a strong connection to both of her parents but it was their connection which shaped her. She displayed leadership qualities from the beginning. At the age of sixteen, she left America to United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of the Cambridge Union college debate society throughout her college years, where she was the first woman to hold the position of president. Her graduation was in 1972 and she earned an MA in Economics. In the years following her degree, she was a columnist-critic as well as a TV host. The appearance she made in Face the music with Bernard Levin was also notable. She started writing books with his guidance to edit.
