Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the United States and is a writer from Greece, a syndicated columnist as well as a businesswoman. She was the founder of The Huffington Post and the chief executive officer of Thrive Global. Author of more than 15 books. Arianna Huffington, an independently-owned liberal news site and a television host author, author and charitable donor. When she moved into England from Greece when she was 16 and obtaining an MA with Economics from Cambridge University. The first non-English student to graduate, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. Being a conservative syndicated blog when she graduated, she was able to be an influential voice for the Huffington Post. It was her celebrity that led to the recruitment of a number of famous contributors who shared their thoughts on news political, culture and politics. Arianna gained fame in 2003 when she decided to stand for a non-partisan position during the California recall vote to succeed the then governor Davis. Aside from that, Arianna also spearheaded a Detroit initiative that promoted fuel efficient automobiles. Forbes named her one of the "most important woman" in the media industry and ranked her 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of 100 most important media figures in 2009. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and she was named president of the media company. This included many AOL properties at the time such as Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Her parents were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. They were a management consultant and journalist. Though she shared a close friendship with both of her parents but it was their connection that shaped her. She showed leadership traits even in her early years. at the age of 16 she moved back to United Kingdom to pursue her study and then enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. While in college, she joined Cambridge Union's debate societies in the college which she later became the first female and foreign president. Her graduation was in 1972 and she earned an MA in Economics. Following the graduation ceremony, she became a critic columnist and television host. Additionally, she starred together with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using his editorial assistance.
