Taylor
Taylor Swift is that rarest of pop phenomenons: a superstar who managed to seamlessly transition from country to the mainstream making her an iconic celebrity and then conquering the world in the process. Swift is shedding her country roots like it were a second-skin, and has proven herself to be one of one of the best pop singers and songwriters of her time. She is able to take the zeitgeist of today and create her personal. Swift's first hits, particularly the neo celebration of Tim McGraw, showed off her talents. However, her album Fearless showed a singer-songwriter who was discovering herself and finding a large audience. Fearless became a big hit not only in the US which is where its Top Ten singles Love Story, and You Belong with Me helped it to achieve six platinum records but also around the world. It performed particularly well across Canada, Australia as well as the U.K. Swift took off to the peak of the charts when she released Speak Now. Swift's popularity continued to grow through her subsequent three albums - Red (2012) 1989 (2014), and Reputation (2017) and Reputation in 2017 which saw her move into a pop realm in which she was already a part. Even when she scaled back her approach with 2020's stripped-down sibling releases folklore and Evermore she remained atop the charts, a place that she maintained through re-recordings from her back catalog along with Midnights which was her top-charting synthesizer 2022 collection.
